One cube – one gram of space technology

The 9 g jar fits in a pocket, a side pouch of a backpack or a lunch box. Inside are small freeze-dried cubes with pea protein and chlorella: crisp, fruity, melting in your mouth. This is the easiest pack to start with if you are tasting Space Snacks for the first time, or if you want a single portion for training.

Where this snack comes from

The recipe was created in "Development of Future Snacks for Space", a 2024 project funded by the European Space Agency (ESA), in which Super Garden worked with the French space agency CNES, the Institute for Space Medicine and Physiology (MEDES) in Toulouse and the research company Biordico. The beginning was far simpler: Super Garden founder Laura Kaziukonienė pressed a whole carrot into a one-gram cube while looking for a way to give her children more vegetables.

What "innovative protein" means

The protein here comes from pea protein isolate and chlorella, a single-celled algae counted among the densest plant protein sources. Freeze-dried pineapple, raspberry, mango and acerola powders balance the taste, and beetroot powder gives the colour.

Cocoa butter, freeze-dried fruit powders (pineapple, raspberry, mango, acerola), innovative protein sources (pea protein isolate, chlorella powder), freeze-dried beetroot powder.

Need more?

The same flavour also comes in a larger 45 g jar. For a different taste, try the space snack with spirulina.

How to use and store

Eat straight from the jar, take it on a trip or to training, or sprinkle it over yoghurt or porridge. Store in a dry place with the lid closed.
